Education Scotland: The Battle for Integrity and Truthfulness

ScotPAG has written to Education Scotland:
Our letter takes Education Scotland to task because it has a LGBT hub which elevates and promotes gender identity as a proven fact and that it exists.
ScotPAG takes the view that gender identity is a contested belief, dreamt up by theorists and academics, which can only be defined in a circular fashion. There is no evidence at all that it exists. It is also an adult sexual concept which has little to do with children’s cognitive and emotional development.
The LGBT hub on Education Scotland’s website wrongly and confusingly conflates LGB with transgender. The hub presents gender identity as more important than biological sex, thereby denying the importance of the Supreme Court ruling, ergo the law. The hub fails to present any of this information in an impartial manner. Instead the Education Scotland hub promotes the contested belief of gender ideology while ignoring biological reality.

Such bias extends even to recommendations of resources; materials outlining robust evidence, the truth and reality of our biological bodies are ignored. Instead the hub references only resources and organisations which promote gender ideology.
Education Scotland is our lead on educational policy across Scotland. Its function is to be objective, impartial and demonstrate best practice according to excellent educational research. Instead Education Scotland is promoting the dogma of gender ideology across Scotland without due diligence and attention to the harms associated with this ideological approach.

ScotPAG, along with the Cass Review and numerous other professionals* have written repeatedly about the potential harms to children caused by embedding gender identity ideology in schools.
Read our previous blogs on harms caused by gender ideology:
A key point is that children are suggestible and should not be exposed to the lie that they can change sex, or are born in the wrong body. Lying to children is deeply problematic and encouraging children to think there is something wrong with their bodies risks causing psychological distress and bodily hatred. What are our educational leaders thinking?
