It Was Always Going to Happen...

The inevitable repercussions from embedding gender ideology in schools have been happening for a while. For example, in 2023 the Daily Record flagged up the dangers involved in the creation of gender neutral toilets,

We have also witnessed much media coverage about LGBT Youth Scotland, and for reasons of space, provide only one link, published in the Sunday Post, as an exemplar.

Journalists have been wary of reporting the various harms caused by gender ideology due to the media being muzzled. For example, the recent censure by IPSO of the Spectator journalist Gareth Roberts for stating a biological fact; he called Juno Dawson, a man who identifies as a transwoman, … um … a man.

This week, the issue of unisex or mixed sex school toilets hit the headlines yet again

One of the striking stats we drew attention to was that at least 60% of secondary schools in Scotland are not maintaining single-sex toilets and 55% of Scottish schools are not maintaining single-sex changing rooms. ScotPAG has repeatedly highlighted that the impact of embedding gender ideology in schools is harmful both psychologically and physically for all children. It can lead some children down a route of physical harm via puberty blockers and surgery while other children are gaslit and encouraged to collude in a delusion.

Gender ideology is an un-evidenced concept based on queer theory which encourages children to believe that they can change sex. The Scottish Government, Education Scotland, local councils and schools are involved in practicing what activists, not child development experts, have erroneously told them. Nearly all Councils are referring schools to the guidance for schools, Supporting Transgender Pupils in Schools, the RSHP curriculum and 3rd sector youth groups supportive of gender ideology such as LGBTYS and TIE.

These three elements of gender ideology promotion have no basis in facts or good evidence, nor do they provide a balanced approach regarding representation of the facts and evidence. There is no such thing as a ‘transgender’ child. There are certainly gender questioning children who require support but the last thing they should be being told is that they can change sex as a solution. Transgender’ is a rebranding of predominantly adult male fetishistic behaviour. ‘Transgenderism’ and the act teaching children about it, is supporting only an adult agenda which has no place in schools.

The safeguarding of children is every adult's responsibility

At Christmas, ScotPAG wishes it could be more upbeat but incidents like the above will continue to occur for as long as gender ideology is allowed to continue in our schools.
